Meet some rescue dogs available to adopt in Sydney today!
It’s a new year, a new you…and a new chance at life for a dog at Monika’s Doggie Rescue!
Please see below some of the dogs who are currently available to adopt. If you think you could give one of them the forever home they deserve or would like to make an enquiry, you can contact Monika’s Doggie Rescue on 9486 3133 or visit their website here. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook for more information and updates here.
Costa was the perfect photoshoot model. It’s not often you come across these type of dogs in a shelter environment – but he was calm, smiley, friendly and perfectly composed. I wish I could have taken him home as my muse!

Hermoine was another golden child – she’s a smart cookie who worked out pretty quickly what she had to do to allow me to get some photos showing off her best side! Hermoine is part of a pair with Harry as seen further down the page.

Harry and Hermoine are both four year old Labrador x mastiff mixes – they have big boofy heads and lots of love to give! Harry is definitely the quieter of the two – he was quite nervous of the camera and needed to sniff everything in the room before he was ready to relax. Harry and Hermoine are looking for a forever home together.

Maggie is a pocket rocket of a Staffy x – she’s eight years old and is showing no signs of slowing down! She is very treat motivated and has had several litters of puppies in the past. Thankfully she won’t have to endure that again as she has now been desexed…all she needs is her forever home and she can really settle down.

Rosalie and Louise are a mother and daughter pair who are hoping to find a home together! Rosalie (pictured below) is a two year old cattle dog x with a sunny personality. She loves pats and cuddles and was very confident and friendly.

Louise is Rosalie’s daughter and is much more timid. We photographed the dogs separately due to space constraints but you could tell Louise just wanted to be back with her mum. She loved treats though and relaxed after a little while, but was definitely still a scared little pup looking for some love.

Jacob is a five year old staffy with a happy go lucky attitude and big smile! He was super friendly and loves food – he’s a fast learner and very enthusiastic to please. Jacob would be a great dog for first time rescuers.

The next two dogs aren’t a bonded pair – but they are a couple! Tigger and Tigerlily are affectionately known as boyfriend and girlfriend at Monika’s. Tigger is probably the most aptly named dog I have ever met – he’s orange and black, full of exuberance and wants to hug EVERYONE! He’s a goofy boy who is larger than life – he definitely needs rescuing by someone with plenty of zest for life!

Tigerlily is a sweet girl who is very happy and carefree. She loved treats and hugs, and was very inquisitive about her surroundings. Tigerlily is a two year old kelpie x staffy – just look at that smile!
