Meet some rescue dogs available to adopt in Sydney today!
It’s coming up to Easter already – and while we all know that chocolate isn’t good for dogs, adoptions certainly are!
Please see below some of the dogs who are currently available to adopt. If you think you could give one of them the forever home they deserve or would like to make an enquiry, you can contact Monika’s Doggie Rescue on 9486 3133 or visit their website here. You can also follow the shelter on Facebook for more information and updates here.
Not only is Crumpet possibly the greatest dog name to ever exist, but Crumpet the dog lives up to all expectations too!! Crumpet is a five year old American Staffy who busts all the stereotypes of the breed – just look at him!! His favourite toy out of my box of tricks was a pink stuffed animal which he carried around gently in his mouth the whole time he was in the room. Crumpet is friendly, approachable, calm and happy – he’s a big boof head with a heart of gold.

Lulu has recently had stitches but these aren’t slowing her down for a second! She’s a four year old sharpei x who is very loveable and friendly.

Lexi is a nine month old bull arab puppy who is bright, attentive and cheerful. She was very quick to learn and easy to train in front of the camera – she has a huge amount of potential to be someones new best friend for life. Who could resist that sweet little face?

Klaus is a kelpie x who has a few trust issues – he’s not great around food and can become very protective if someone tries to interrupt him eating or look like they want some of his share. He’s barely a year old and just hasn’t had anyone in his life show him how to share….and hasn’t learned to understand that there will always now be another meal coming. Klaus needs someone with patience to form a special bond with him so he can learn to trust other dogs and people.

Jupiter is a calm staffy x kelpie (an oxymoron, I know!) who modelled some bunny ears very patiently. At just two years of age, Jupiter is a great mix of the playfulness of a young dog without the terror of the puppy training!

Lorenzo is another gorgeous boofhead who rocked the bunny ears like it was nobody’s business! He is three years old with such a big heart – he was very food motivated as well which made him eager to please and quick to learn.

Holly wanted to be in my lap THE WHOLE TIME we were together…and I wasn’t complaining for a second! It did make it a little tough to take photographs of her but we got there eventually. Holly is two years old and very affectionate.

Goldie is a very scared and nervous dog who isn’t doing great in the shelter environment. We didn’t even attempt to put ears or even a bandana on her as she was very shy and got stressed quite quickly….although we did manage to get a cheeky little tongue out! We think Goldie is a labrador x.

Last but not least this month is Tessa. Tessa is a five year old sharpei x kelpie who definitely requires someone with rescue experience with difficult dogs. She’s unpredictable and can change gears in an instant – she’s uncertain about what to think about most things and so tends to act reactively. Tessa is a lovely girl though and again is just needing that special person to step up and commit to giving her a home where she can feel safe and learn to trust again.
